And what do we say to those who feel like Jesus is in the back part of the ship asleep on a pillow? I am amazed that even asleep Jesus protected them, for though the ship was filling with water they did not sink. Awakened Jesus stopped the storm, not to keep them safe, but to remove the cause of their fear. What a God we have, Who not only “is at the helm”, but at the storm centre comforting us in our anxiety and terror! Peace in the middle of the storm…
