With the distractions of the world aside, I hear God in my prayers like a laser beam. Most people want to know the “will of God” or to hear the “voice of God,” but this is way more scary than you think. Imagine if God did speak: and we actually had to obey.
Finding God’s will is not some romantic picnic or celestial epiphany. It’s often just a silent whisper that cuts through all the lies we’ve been rehearsing, toward a kind of life that feels impossible but for the grace of God. It removes the constant gloss of our familiarity. It rips away our excuses. It will sting.
Every Christian throws around God’s Will so casually, like a trump card to assist our own agendas, but once you really get it: you cannot go back. You either really want to find Him, or you want to say you did. Find Him, and it will be more reckless than you could’ve dreamed. Find Him, and find your life.

Great post. I have struggled to find God’s for a long time, not 100 percent sure I ever have.

Amen! I feel finding God and His will in life is a constant journey of learning and re-learning… each lesson unique and perhaps resounding because it all comes from One source. Of course this journey comes with its ups and downs and its “in tune” seasons and not so “in tune” seasons. These seasons can be moments in and of themselves. This post made me remember that verse: Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding. Commit to Him all your ways and He will direct your path. Thank you for sharing great insight which is God’s will and Spirit led 🙂

People do search for God’s will. Sometimes they wait days, even years. My image is to do what we know God wants all of us to do: love, feed, clothe, visit others and tell about Jesus. If you are on the right track God can get you to the right station at the right time. If you sit on a siding waiting for some miraculous encounter, well…
