Weapons of Grace, Part 2: Obeying God’s Commands in Light of His Grace

If God is so gracious, why does He give commands?

Maybe we should back up just a little. 

The reason we follow God is NOT to get His grace, but because we have it.  Despite what the preacher-man has told you, you don’t have to do jacksquat for the grace of God.  Jesus went to the cross to gift us right in the face with it.

We follow God because this is now who we are. 

God has set you free from your old self into a new creation.  That’s why we need grace: not only to break us free, but to move us forward.  To essentially fit our new robes.

In a sense, we don’t live FOR God, but because of God.
